APPSC Group 1 Recruitment 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has published Notification No. 07/2026 for Direct Recruitment to various categories of posts under Group-I Services. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates to fill up 166 vacancies including Deputy Collectors, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil), District Educational Officer, Assistant Commissioner of State Tax, and more across the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit (As on 01.07.2026)
The standard age limit for most Group I posts is 18 to 44 years. However, there are exceptions for uniform/police services.
- Post Code 03 (DSP Civil): 21 to 30 years.
- Post Code 04 (DSP Communications): 18 to 30 years.
- All other Post Codes: 18 to 44 years.

2. Educational Qualifications
- General Posts: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University in India or its equivalent qualification as on the date of notification.
- DSP (Communications) – Post Code 04: Must possess a B.E / B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering OR Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering OR Radio Engineering.
3. Physical Requirements
Specific physical standards (Height, Chest expansion, Vision) are strictly applicable for Uniformed posts like Deputy Superintendent of Police (Civil & Communications), Regional Transport Officer, and others as per respective departmental guidelines.

The fee must be paid online using Net Banking, Credit card, or Debit Card. IPOs/Demand Drafts are not accepted. Fee once paid is non-refundable.
Selection Process
The selection to APPSC Group I Services involves three major phases:
- Screening Test: Comprises Paper-I (General Studies) and Paper-II (General Aptitude). Each paper has 120 questions for 120 marks. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are shortlisted for Mains in a 1:50 ratio.
- Main Written Exam: Consists of qualifying papers in Telugu and English (150 marks each), followed by 5 merit-ranking descriptive papers (Paper I to V, 150 marks each).
- Interview: Eligible candidates will be called for an Interview (Personality Test) at the ratio of 1:2 based on Main Exam merit. Final selection is based on Mains + Interview marks (Total 825 Marks).
How to Apply Online
- Candidates must register their profile using the One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) on the Commission’s Website: psc.ap.gov.in.
- Upon successful registration, a User ID is generated and sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
- Login to the portal using the OTPR ID and password. Click on “Online Application Submission”.
- Select the Notification No. 07/2026 (Group-I Services) and fill in the required application specific data (Local/Non-Local status, preferences, etc.).
- Click on the “Save & Submit” button. This will redirect you to the payment gateway.
- Pay the processing and examination fee using online payment modes.
- After successful payment, a reference ID is generated. Download and print the filled application PDF for future reference.
