AP Police SI Recruitment 2026: The State Level Police Recruitment Board, Andhra Pradesh (SLPRB, AP), has issued Notification Rc.No.81/SLPRB/Rect.1/2026 dated 16-09-2026. Online applications are invited for a total of 378 vacancies for the posts of Sub Inspectors of Police (Civil), Reserve Sub Inspectors of Police (AR), and Sub Inspectors in Special Protection Force (SPF).

Reservation Details:
- Women Reservation: 33 1/3 % of vacancies are reserved for women for Post Code 11 (Civil) and 20% for Post Code 12 (AR). Post Code 31 is for Men only.
- Special Categories: Horizontal reservation applies for Ex-Servicemen, Police Executive (PE), Police Ministerial (PM), Meritorious Sportspersons (MSP), NCC, CPP, CDI, and CSPF/MSPF as per the notification quotas.

Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit
Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)
Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 27 years as on 1st July 2026. This means candidates must have been born not earlier than 2nd July 1999 and not later than 1st July 2005.
Age Relaxations
- EWS, BC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, and ST Candidates: Relaxation up to a maximum of 5 years.
- AP State Government Employees: Relaxation equivalent to the length of regular service, limited to a maximum of 5 years. (Employees of Corporations, Municipalities, APTRANSCO, APGENCO etc. are not eligible).
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years in addition to the length of service rendered in the Army, Navy or Air Force.
- NCC Instructors: 3 years in addition to the length of service (minimum 6 months required).
- Retrenched Census Employees (1991): Up to a maximum of 3 years.
Educational Qualification (as on 01 July 2026)
- The candidate must possess a Degree awarded by any University in India recognized by UGC.
- For SC/ST Candidates: He/she must have passed Intermediate Examination AND should have studied a degree in any recognized university.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
For Post Code 11 (SI Civil):
Men & Women candidates must qualify in the 1600 Meters run AND one of the remaining two events (100 meters run or long jump). This test is purely qualifying in nature.

Candidates must qualify in all three events (1600m, 100m, and Long Jump). These events carry a maximum of 100 marks which are added to the final selection score.

- Long jump: Maximum 30 Marks

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
1. Preliminary Written Test (PWT)
- Paper 1: Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (100 Questions) – 100 Marks (SSC Standard)
- Paper 2: General Studies (100 Questions) – 100 Marks (Degree Standard)
- Duration: 3 hours for each paper.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40% for OC/EWS, 35% for BC, and 30% for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen. Candidates must qualify in both papers independently. Marks from prelims are not counted in final merit.
2. Final Written Examination (Mains)
Candidates who clear the PMT & PET will appear for the Final Written Exam which consists of 4 papers:

Final Selection Formula
- Post Code 11 (SI Civil): Final selection is based on the aggregate score of Paper III (200 marks) + Paper IV (200 marks) = 400 Marks Total.
- Post Code 12 (RSI AR) & Post Code 31 (SI SPF): Final selection is based on Paper III (100 marks) + Paper IV (100 marks) + PET Score (100 marks) = 300 Marks Total.
Syllabus for Written Examination (Annexure-II)
Paper I & II (Descriptive – English and Telugu/Urdu)
Tests the candidate’s understanding of the language, correct usage, and writing ability. Includes short essay, comprehension, précis, letter writing, paragraph/report writing, and translation.
Paper III (Objective – Arithmetic & Reasoning)
Arithmetic (SSC Standard): Number system, simple/compound interest, ratio & proportion, average, percentage, profit & loss, time & work, time & distance, clocks, calendars, mensuration, etc.
Reasoning: Analogies, similarities, differences, spatial visualization, problem-solving, analysis, decision making, visual memory.
Paper IV (Objective – General Studies – Degree Standard)
General Science and technology, current events (national/international), History of India and Indian National Movement, Geography of India, Indian Polity and Economy.

- After successful payment, return to the website and submit the Stage-I Online Application Form.
- Candidates who qualify the Prelims will later need to submit the Stage-II Application Form and upload scanned copies of original documents before PMT/PET.
