Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit

1. Essential Academic Qualifications (As on 30.09.2026)

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

  • Final Year Students: Those who are in the Final Year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 30.09.2026.
  • Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant etc. are also eligible.

2. Age Limit (As on 01.04.2026)

Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2026 (candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2005 and not earlier than 02.04.1996).

3. Number of Chances

Candidates who have already appeared for the maximum number of permissible chances are not eligible to apply. (UR/EWS: 6 chances, OBC: 9 chances, SC/ST: No restriction). Appearing in Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance.

CIBIL Score: Candidates who have defaulted in repayment of loans/credit card dues and whose accounts reflect adverse credit history in CIBIL shall be required to regularize/repay all outstanding dues on or before the date of joining.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection for SBI Probationary Officers will be done through a three-Phase process:

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering 10 times (approx.) of the vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
