Eligibility Criteria for SSC JHT Recruitment
Candidates must carefully verify their eligibility before applying. The crucial date for age and educational qualifications will be the closing date of the application (14.05.2026).
1. Age Limit
- Age Criterion: Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age as on the crucial date.
- Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules.
2. Educational Qualifications
- For Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) / Junior Translator (JT): Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject.
AND
Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking. - For Senior Hindi Translator (SHT): Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject OR Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject.
AND
Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years’ experience of translation work.

The examination fee can be paid online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Credit/Debit cards.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection process for the SSC JHT posts will consist of two papers followed by Document Verification.
Paper-I: Computer Based Examination (Objective Type)
