RRB NTPC Recruitment 2025: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, have released a major Centralized Employment Notification (CEN No. 06/2025) for the recruitment of Graduate Level Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts. This recruitment drive aims to fill 5,810 vacancies across various Zonal Railways and Production Units. Eligible candidates can apply online for these prestigious government jobs.

RRB NTPC Eligibility

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent. For posts like Junior Accounts Assistant and Senior Clerk, typing proficiency in English/Hindi on a computer is essential. Candidates awaiting their final results are not eligible to apply.
• Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026): The age limit is 18 to 33 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
• Medical Standards: Candidates must meet the specific medical standards (A-2, B-2, C-2) required for their chosen posts. Notably, candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery are not eligible for posts with an A-2 medical standard, which includes Station Master, Goods Train Manager, and Traffic Assistant.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of the following stages:

1. 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT): A common screening test for all posts.
   • Subjects: Mathematics (30 Marks), General Intelligence & Reasoning (30 Marks), General Awareness (40 Marks).
   • Total Questions: 100 | Duration: 90 minutes.
   • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
2. 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT): Candidates shortlisted from the 1st Stage CBT will appear for this test.
   • Subjects: Mathematics (35 Marks), General Intelligence & Reasoning (35 Marks), General Awareness (50 Marks).
   • Total Questions: 120 | Duration: 90 minutes.
   • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark.
3. Skill Test (as applicable):
   • Typing Skill Test (CBTST): Qualifying in nature for posts like Junior Accounts Assistant and Senior Clerk. Requires typing 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi.
   • Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Mandatory for Station Master and Traffic Assistant posts. Candidates must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery.
4. Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify in all the above stages will be called for DV and a medical examination in a 1:1 ratio against the vacancies.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks from the 2nd Stage CBT. For posts with CBAT, the final score will have a 70% weightage from the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% from the CBAT.

• For all candidates (except fee concession categories): ₹500/- (An amount of ₹400/- will be refunded after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT).
• For SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and EBC candidates: ₹250/- (This entire amount will be refunded after appearing in the 1st Stage CBT).

To get the refund, candidates must attend the 1st Stage CBT.

How to Apply RRB NTPC

Candidates can apply online through the official website of any one RRB of their choice.

1. First, candidates must create an account on the RRB portal using the ‘Create an Account’ link.
2. During the application process, a live photo will be captured via webcam.
3. Scanned copies of your signature and SC/ST certificate (for free travel pass) must be uploaded.
4. You can apply to only one RRB. Submitting multiple applications will lead to rejection.
5. If you need to make corrections to your application, you can do so during the modification window by paying a fee of ₹250/-.
