This massive recruitment drive is conducted to fill 22,195 Vacancies for various Level-1 posts under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
These positions are entry-level technical and operational roles vital to the functioning of Indian Railways. Candidates selected will work as Track Maintainers, Pointsmen, and Assistants in departments like Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, and Signal & Telecommunication (S&T).

3. Comprehensive Eligibility Criteria
A. Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)
The standard age limit for Level-1 posts is 18 to 33 Years. Category-wise upper age relaxations are as follows:

RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications from a recognized Board/NCVT/SCVT:
- Matriculation (10th Standard Pass) OR
- ITI from NCVT/SCVT recognized institutions OR
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Note: Those awaiting final results of their 10th/ITI as of the closing date (March 02, 2026) are NOT eligible to apply.
C. Medical Standards (Vision & Fitness)
Candidates must meet specific medical standards categorized from A2 to C1 based on the post requirements:

4. CBT Exam Pattern & Syllabus for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026
The selection process consists of a Computer Based Test (CBT). Normalization of marks will be done if the exam is in multiple shifts.
Exam Duration: 90 Minutes (120 Mins for PwBD with Scribe)
Total Questions: 100 Objective Type MCQs
Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

5. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Standards for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026
PET is qualifying in nature. Passing it is mandatory for further stages (DV/Medical).
Male Candidates
- Carry 35 kg weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
- Run 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
Female/Transgender Candidates
- Carry 20 kg weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
- Run 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
6. Step-By-Step Application Process
- Create Account: Visit rrbapply.gov.in. Enter Name, Date of Birth, Aadhaar Number, Mobile, and Email to create an account. Details here are permanent.
- Login & Apply: Select the RRB Zone you wish to apply for. Fill in Educational qualifications and address.
- Preference Selection: Select the priority for various posts (Level-1 posts) available in that zone.
- Photo Capturing: CEN 09/2025 uses Live Photography. You must use a webcam or front-facing camera to capture a clear photo against a light background.
- Signature Upload: Upload scanned signature in black ink (File size: 30KB – 49KB).
