Agniveervayu enrolled under this entry are liable to be assigned any duty in organizational interest at the discretion of the Indian Air Force. This means selected candidates can be posted anywhere across India, depending on service requirements and strategic needs.

Selection Process for Agniveervayu Intake 2025

The selection process is rigorous and comprises three distinct phases designed to assess candidates’ mental and physical capabilities:

  1. Phase-I: Online Test (Computer-Based)
    • Eligible candidates will receive admit cards via their registered email addresses 48-72 hours before the examination.
    • The test will be objective type and bilingual (English & Hindi), except for the English paper.
    • For Science Subjects: 60 minutes duration, covering Physics, Mathematics, and English (as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus).
    • For Other than Science Subjects: 45 minutes duration, covering English (as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
    • For Candidates opting for both streams: 85 minutes duration, covering Physics, Mathematics, English, and RAGA.
    • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer, 0 for unattempted questions, and 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Normalised marks will be used for shortlisting and final merit list. Cut-off marks may vary state-wise.
    • Candidates must qualify in each paper individually.
  2. Phase-II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Adaptability Tests
    • Candidates shortlisted from the online test will be called for PFT and Adaptability Tests at designated Airmen Selection Centres (ASCs).
    • PFT-I:
      • Male Candidates: 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes.
      • Female Candidates: 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes.
    • PFT-II (conducted after 10 minutes of recuperation from PFT-I):
      • Male Candidates: 10 Push-ups (within 1 min), 10 Sit-ups (within 1 min), 20 Squats (within 1 min).
      • Female Candidates: 10 Sit-ups (within 1 min 30 sec), 15 Squats (within 1 min).
    • Adaptability Test-I: An objective written test to assess candidates’ suitability for deployment in various geographical terrain, weather, and operational conditions of the IAF.
    • Adaptability Test-II: This test evaluates candidates’ ability to adapt to the Indian Air Force environment and military way of life.
  3. Phase-III: Medical Examination
    • Candidates who successfully qualify Adaptability Test-II will receive medical appointment letters.
    • Medical examinations will be conducted by an Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards.
    • The examination includes various investigations such as Blood Haemogram, Urine RE/ME, Biochemistry (Blood Sugar, Serum Cholesterol, RFT, LFT), Radiograph Chest, Ultrasonography of lower abdomen & Pelvis (for females), ECG (R), and other necessary investigations.
    • Candidates declared medically unfit have the option to appeal through the ‘Appeal Medical Board (AMB)’ within three working days by depositing ₹240/-.
