Education Qualification
Candidates must possess at least a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology, or a First Class Master’s Degree in Science in the relevant subject/discipline from a recognized university or equivalent. Salary
The posts are in Level-10 (7th CPC) of the Pay Matrix, with a Basic Pay of Rs. 56,100/-. Total emoluments (inclusive of HRA and all other allowances) at the time of joining will be approximately Rs. 1,00,000/- p.m. at the present metro city rate. For encadred posts, emoluments will be paid by the respective Indian Armed Services.
Job Location
Selected candidates will have the liability to serve anywhere in India, including remote/field area locations, as per Central Government Rules.
Selection Process
The selection process for Scientist ‘B’ posts involves two main stages:
- Screening/Shortlisting: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their valid GATE score (2023/2024/2025) in a ratio of 1:10 (subject to availability) in order of discipline-wise category-wise merit.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview, which will be held at Delhi or any other place decided by RAC/DRDO.
The final selection will be purely based on a combined merit of 80% weightage of the GATE score and 20% weightage of marks in the Personal Interview. Candidates must secure a minimum qualifying mark of 70% (for UR) and 60% (for EWS/OBC/SC/ST/Divyangjan) in the Personal Interview to be considered for the final merit list.
