Vacancy Details & Pay Scale 2026

A massive total of 7,112 vacancies have been announced across various wings of the Police, Fire, and Prisons departments. The detailed district-wise and category-wise distributions are available in the official notification.

*Note: 33.33% of the vacancies in each category (including EWS) are reserved for Women for Post Code Nos. 21, 25, and 26. For Post Code 22 (AR), 10% vacancies are reserved for women.

Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit

1. Age Limit (As on 01.07.2026)

The base age limit for the posts is 18 to 22 years. However, the Government of Telangana has raised the upper age limit by 5 (five) years for uniformed services. This relaxation is in addition to the base age.

• General Category (Effective Age): 18 to 27 Years (i.e., base 22 + 5 years Govt relaxation).
• For Home Guards: 18 to 45 Years (i.e., base 40 + 5 years Govt relaxation). Must have been on duty for a minimum of 360 days within 2 years.
• Widows/Divorced Women (SC/ST): 18 to 45 Years (base 40 + 5).
• Widows/Divorced Women (Others): 18 to 40 Years (base 35 + 5).

Category-wise Additional Age Relaxation (on the effective upper age limit):

• SC, ST, BCs, and EWS category: 5 Years
• Telangana State Govt Employees: Up to 5 Years
• Ex-Servicemen / NCC Instructors: 3 Years + length of service

2. Educational Qualification (As on 29.07.2026)

• Must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent examination recognized by the State Government as on the date of Notification (29th July 2026).

3. Technical Qualification (Only for Fire Fighter – Post Code 26)

• Candidates must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license as on the date of Notification (29th July 2026).

4. Physical Standards & Medical Fitness

Candidates must possess sound health and meet strict physical and visual standards. Color blindness, knock-knees, flat foot, or any bodily defect will lead to disqualification.

Application Fees & Concessions

The exact fee amount will be designated in the Online Application system. TSLPRB provides a rebate for candidates applying for multiple posts across different notifications simultaneously.

• Rebate for Multiple Applications: If a candidate applies for more than one post across the 4 notifications (SI Civil, ASI FPB, PC Civil, PC Driver/Mechanic), a rebate of Rs. 50/- per additional post for SC/ST Local candidates, and Rs. 100/- per additional post for all other candidates will be given. This is due to the savings from conducting a Common Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection methodology for TSLPRB Police Constable entails three rigorous stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Written Test (PWT)

All registered candidates will take the PWT. It is an objective type OMR-based exam.

• Subjects: Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (100 Qs) AND General Studies (100 Qs).
• Total Questions/Marks: 200 Questions / 200 Marks.
• Duration: 3 Hours.
• Negative Marking: 20% (1/5th) negative mark for every wrong answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: OCs/EWS: 30%, BCs: 25%, SCs/STs/Ex-Servicemen: 20%.

Stage 2: Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates qualifying the PWT will undergo the PMT (Height measurement) and PET. The PMT/PET will be conducted only once for candidates applying for multiple posts across notifications.

• Run Event (1600m / 800m): Men must complete 1600m in 7 Min 15 Sec (Ex-SM: 9 Min 30 Sec). Women must complete 800m in 5 Min 20 Sec.
  Note: For PC Civil/SPF/Fire/Warder, the Run is qualifying. For PC AR/SAR CPL, marks are awarded based on timings (using normalization) which contribute to the final merit.
• Long Jump: Men: 4 Meters (Ex-SM: 3.5m) | Women: 2.50 Meters. (Qualifying nature).
• Shot Put: Men (7.26 Kgs): 6 Meters | Women (4 Kgs): 4 Meters. (Qualifying nature).

Stage 3: Final Written Examination (FWE)

Candidates qualifying the PMT/PET will appear for the FWE (Objective Type, OMR based).

• For PC Civil, Fire Fighter, Warder (Post Codes 21, 26, 27, 28): 200 Questions for 200 Marks (3 Hours).
• For PC AR, SAR CPL, SPF (Post Codes 22, 23, 25): 200 Questions for 100 Marks (3 Hours).
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: OCs/EWS: 40%, BCs: 35%, SCs/STs/Ex-SM: 30%.
• Final selection is based strictly on the aggregate score of the FWE (and PET marks for AR/SPF posts where applicable), factoring in local and special reservations.
