Vacancy Details & Pay Scale 2026

A total of 275 vacancies have been announced across various wings. The detailed zone-wise distributions are available in the official notification.

*Note: 33.33% of the vacancies in each category (including EWS) are reserved for Women for Post Code Nos. 11, 16, and 17. For Post Code 12 (AR), 10% vacancies are reserved for women.

Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit

1. Age Limit (As on 01.07.2026)

The base age limit for the posts is 21 to 25 years. However, the Government of Telangana has raised the upper age limit by 5 (five) years for uniformed services. This relaxation is in addition to the base age.

• General Category (Effective Age): 21 to 30 Years (i.e., base 25 + 5 years Govt relaxation).
• Widows/Divorced Women (SC/ST): Up to 40 Years.
• Widows/Divorced Women (Others): Up to 35 Years.

Category-wise Additional Age Relaxation (on the effective upper age limit):

• SC, ST, BCs, and EWS category: 5 Years
• Telangana State Govt Employees: Up to 5 Years
• Ex-Servicemen / NCC Instructors: 3 Years + length of service

2. Educational Qualification (As on 29.07.2026)

• Must possess a Degree awarded by any university in India, established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, Provincial Act of State, or of any Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission or any other equivalent qualification.

3. Technical Qualification (Only for Station Fire Officer – Post Code 17)

• Candidates must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license as on the date of Notification (29th July 2026).

4. Physical Standards & Medical Fitness

Candidates must possess sound health and meet strict physical and visual standards. Color blindness, knock-knees, flat foot, or any bodily defect will lead to disqualification.

Application Fees & Concessions

The exact fee amount will be designated in the Online Application system. TSLPRB provides a rebate for candidates applying for multiple posts across different notifications simultaneously.

• Rebate for Multiple Applications: If a candidate applies for more than one post across the 4 notifications (SI Civil, ASI FPB, PC Civil, PC Driver/Mechanic), a rebate of Rs. 50/- per additional post for SC/ST Local candidates, and Rs. 100/- per additional post for all other candidates will be given. This is due to the savings from conducting a Common Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection methodology for TSLPRB Sub Inspector entails three rigorous stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Written Test (PWT)

All registered candidates will take the PWT. It is an objective type OMR-based exam.

• Subjects: Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (100 Qs) AND General Studies (100 Qs).
• Total Questions/Marks: 200 Questions / 200 Marks.
• Duration: 3 Hours.
• Negative Marking: 20% (1/5th) negative mark for every wrong answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: OCs/EWS: 30%, BCs: 25%, SCs/STs/Ex-Servicemen: 20%.

Stage 2: Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates qualifying the PWT will undergo the PMT (Height measurement) and PET. The PMT/PET will be conducted only once for candidates applying for multiple posts across notifications.

• Run Event (1600m / 800m): Men must complete 1600m in 7 Min 15 Sec (Ex-SM: 9 Min 30 Sec). Women must complete 800m in 5 Min 20 Sec.
  Note: For SI Civil, SFO, Deputy Jailor, the Run is qualifying. For RSI AR, SAR CPL, TGSP, and SPF, marks are awarded based on timings (using normalization) which contribute to the final merit.
• Long Jump: Men: 4 Meters (Ex-SM: 3.5m) | Women: 2.50 Meters. (Qualifying nature).
• Shot Put: Men (7.26 Kgs): 6 Meters | Women (4 Kgs): 4 Meters. (Qualifying nature).

Stage 3: Final Written Examination (FWE)

Candidates qualifying the PMT/PET will appear for the FWE consisting of 4 papers.

• Paper I: English (Qualifying, Matriculation Standard). Part A (Objective, 25 Marks), Part B (Descriptive, 75 Marks).
• Paper II: Telugu/Urdu (Qualifying, Matriculation Standard). Part A (Objective, 25 Marks), Part B (Descriptive, 75 Marks).
• Paper III: Arithmetic and Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability (Objective, 200 Questions). For Civil/SFO/Jailor: 200 Marks. For AR/SAR CPL/TGSP/SPF: 100 Marks.
• Paper IV: General Studies (Objective, 200 Questions). For Civil/SFO/Jailor: 200 Marks. For AR/SAR CPL/TGSP/SPF: 100 Marks.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks (Paper III & IV): OCs/EWS: 40%, BCs: 35%, SCs/STs/Ex-SM: 30%.
• Final selection is based strictly on the aggregate score of Paper III & IV of the FWE (and PET marks for AR/SAR CPL/TGSP/SPF posts where applicable).

How to Apply Online for TSLPRB SI 2026?

The application process is exclusively online and involves a two-part submission system. Follow these steps carefully once the dates are announced:

1. Step I (Registration): Visit the official TSLPRB portal: www.tgprb.in. Register using your Mobile Number as your User ID. Choose the notifications and posts you wish to apply for.
2. Step II (Fee Payment): Pay the required application fee based on the posts chosen via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
3. Step III (Part-I Application): After payment, fill out the Part-I online application. You must upload a scanned image combining your recent Passport Size Photograph and Signature (max 100 KB, min 30 KB, JPG format). Submit the form and print the acknowledgment. No changes are allowed after submission.
4. Step IV (Part-II Application): Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Written Test (PWT) will later be required to visit the website again to fill the Part-II application. Here, you will upload scanned copies of all required certificates (Degree, Community, EWS, Non-Creamy Layer, Local status, Special Categories, LMV License for SFO, etc.) and specify your unit/post preferences.
