Vacancy Details & Pay Scale 2026

A total of 27 technical vacancies have been announced exclusively for Male candidates in the Telangana Police Department.

Eligibility Criteria, Age Limit & Technical Qualifications

1. Age Limit (As on 01.07.2026)

The base age limit varies by post. However, the Government of Telangana has raised the upper age limit by 5 (five) years for uniformed services. This relaxation is in addition to the base age.

• For PC (Mechanic) – Post Code 35: Base age is 18 to 22 years. With the +5 years Govt relaxation, the General Upper Limit is 27 Years.
• For PC (Driver) – Post Code 36: Base age is 21 to 25 years. With the +5 years Govt relaxation, the General Upper Limit is 30 Years.

Category-wise Additional Age Relaxation (on the effective upper age limit):

• SC, ST, BCs, and EWS category: 5 Years
• Telangana State Govt Employees: Up to 5 Years
• Ex-Servicemen / NCC Instructors: 3 Years + length of service

2. Educational & Technical Qualification (As on 29.07.2026)

For Post Code 35 – PC (Mechanic):

• Must have passed SSC or its equivalent.
• Technical: Must possess an Industrial Training Institutional (ITI) Certificate in Auto Electrician OR Mechanic Motor vehicle OR Mechanic Diesel OR Fitter.

For Post Code 36 – PC (Driver):

• Must have passed Intermediate (10+2) OR SSC/equivalent.
• Technical (If applying with SSC): Must possess an ITI Certificate in Auto Electrician OR Mechanic Motor vehicle OR Mechanic Diesel OR Fitter.
• Driving License (Mandatory): Must possess a valid Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle (HPMV) and Heavy Goods Vehicle or Transport Vehicle license as on the date of Notification (29th July 2026). The License must be valid at the time of the Driving Test.

3. Physical Standards & Medical Fitness

Candidates must possess sound health and meet strict physical and visual standards. Color blindness, squint, or any morbid condition of the eye will lead to disqualification.

Application Fees & Concessions

The exact fee amount will be designated in the Online Application system. TSLPRB provides a rebate for candidates applying for multiple posts across different notifications simultaneously.

• Rebate for Multiple Applications: If a candidate applies for more than one post across the 4 notifications (SI Civil, ASI FPB, PC Civil, PC Driver/Mechanic), a rebate of Rs. 50/- per additional post for SC/ST Local candidates, and Rs. 100/- per additional post for all other candidates will be given. This is due to the savings from conducting a Common Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Selection Process & Trade/Driving Tests

The selection methodology for TSLPRB Technical Police Constables skips the Preliminary Written Test and involves direct physical and practical skill assessments:

Stage 1: Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates skip the PWT and directly undergo physical tests. The PMT/PET will be conducted only once for candidates applying for multiple posts across notifications.

• 1600m Run Event: Men must complete 1600m in a maximum time of 7 Minutes 15 Seconds (Ex-SM: 9 Min 30 Sec). (Qualifying nature).
• Long Jump: Men: 4 Meters (Ex-SM: 3.50m). (Qualifying nature).
• Shot Put (7.26 Kgs): Men: 6 Meters. (Qualifying nature).

Stage 2: Trade Test / Driving Test (100 Marks)

Candidates qualifying the PMT/PET will face a rigorous practical test evaluated by a committee of experts.

• Trade Test for PC Mechanic (100 Marks): Tests knowledge on Tappet clearance, Hub setting, Clutch master cylinders, Gearbox mechanisms, FIP systems, Valve timing, Brake adjustments, etc. Must secure a minimum of 50 marks to qualify.
• Driving Test for PC Driver (100 Marks): Tests starting on gradients, gear changing, road sense, traffic signals, reversing, minor repairs, and vehicle mechanism knowledge. Must secure a minimum of 50 marks to qualify.

Stage 3: Final Written Examination (FWE)

Candidates qualifying the Trade/Driving Test will appear for the FWE.

• Technical Paper: 1 Paper (Objective Type, OMR based).
• Questions/Marks: 200 Questions for 200 Marks (3 Hours duration).
• Syllabus: Trade-specific technical knowledge (Automobile mechanics for Post 35, Driving rules and vehicle maintenance for Post 36).
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: OCs/EWS: 40%, BCs: 35%, SCs/STs/Ex-SM: 30%.
• Final selection is based strictly on the aggregate score of the Trade/Driving Test AND the Final Written Examination.
