Eligibility Criteria & Age Limit

The upper age limit, qualification, and/or experience will be reckoned as on the closing date (09.09.2026 or 01.01.2026 as per post requirements).

1. Social Worker

  • Age Limit: 30 years and below as on 1st January 2026.
  • Essential Qualification: Degree from a recognized University AND Diploma in Social work of a minimum of one year duration AND One year experience in Social work in a recognized Institution/Hospital. (OR) Post-graduate degree in Sociology from a recognized University.

2. Upper Division Clerk (UDC)

  • Age Limit: Between 18 and 27 years of age.
  • Essential Qualification: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent. AND At least three years’ experience in correspondence work in Govt./ Semi Govt./ Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous Bodies/ Institutions. AND Thorough knowledge of office routine/ rules and regulations.

3. Lower Division Clerk (LDC)

  • Age Limit: Between 18 and 27 years of age.
  • Essential Qualification: 12th Class or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University. AND A typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi or Tamil on Computer.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable for Government servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government. PwBD category candidates will also be entitled to age relaxation as admissible, irrespective of whether the post is reserved for PwBD or not.

Application Fees

The application fee must be paid via Bank Demand Draft (DD) only. Any other mode of payment viz., cash, money order, cheque, or Postal order will not be accepted.

  • General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only)
  • SC / ST / PwBD candidates: Exempted from payment of fees.

Fees should be paid in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favor of “Central Council for Research in Siddha” and payable at Chennai. On the overleaf of the DD, candidates must mention their name, Advertisement No., and post applied for.

Selection Process

The selection will be based on merit and performance in the written test and/or skill test.

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their requisite educational qualifications and experience.
  2. Written Test: Shortlisted candidates are required to attend a Written Test at their own cost. The final selection list will be prepared in order of merit based on the marks obtained in the Written Test.
  3. Skill Test (For LDC Only): A typing test is mandatory for the post of LDC. It will be of a qualifying nature. A typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Tamil or Hindi on a Computer is required.
