RRB ALP Recruitment 2026: Government of India, Ministry of Railways, Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) released Detailed Centralised Employment Notice CEN No. 01/2026 for recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) posts across India. Total notified vacancies are 11,127.

RRB ALP Vacancy Details
RRB-wise and Railway Zone-wise vacancies are available in Annexure-B of the official notification. Vacancies may increase or decrease based on Railway Administration requirements.
- Total ALP Vacancies: 11,127
- Posting across various Railway Zones in India
- Only one RRB can be selected during application
- Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in chosen Railway Zone
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- 10th Pass + ITI from NCVT/SCVT recognized institute
- OR Course Completed Act Apprenticeship
- OR Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering
- Engineering Degree holders in relevant streams are also eligible
- Candidates awaiting final results are NOT eligible
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
- Age calculated as on 01 July 2026

Important Medical Requirements
- Distant Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses
- Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses
- Must pass Color Vision Test
- Must pass Binocular Vision Test
- Must pass Night Vision & Mesopic Vision
- Candidates with LASIK or refractive surgery are NOT eligible
- No alternative appointment will be provided if medically unfit
