Indian Navy Agniveer MR Musician Recruitment 2026: The Indian Navy has invited online applications from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates for enrolment as Agniveer (MR – Musician) for the 02/2026 (Jul 26) Batch. Eligible 10th pass candidates with musical proficiency can apply online at joinindiannavy.gov.in.

The Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment, Naval Headquarters, New Delhi, has released the official notification for the Agniveer Matric Recruit (MR) Musician 02/2026 Batch. The Indian Navy is looking for talented musicians who have proficiency in playing instruments (Keyboard/String/Wind, etc.). Indian Navy Agniveer MR (Musician) Notification 2026 Overview

Selection will be based on the order of merit, derived from performance in the Music Ability Test (MAT), Written Exam, and Physical Fitness Test. The training for this batch will tentatively commence in July 2026 at INS Chilka, Odisha.

Agniveer Salary & Benefits

The Agniveers shall be enrolled for a period of four years. The financial package and benefits are as per the Agniveer scheme.

Note: Agniveers will be provided a non-contributory Life Insurance Cover of Rs. 48 lakh for the duration of their engagement. Up to 25% of each batch will be offered permanent enrolment in the Indian Navy after 4 years.

Eligibility Criteria for Navy MR Musician

1. Age Limit

• Candidate should be born between 01 Jul 2004 to 31 Dec 2008 (both dates inclusive).

2. Educational Qualification

• Candidate must have passed Matriculation (10th) Examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from the Boards of School Education recognised by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

3. Musical Ability & Experience Certificate

• Candidates should have proficiency in playing instruments like Keyboard, String, Wind instruments, or any other instrument of Indian/foreign origin.
• Exceptions: Indefinite pitch instruments (Jazz Drum set, Bass Drum, Snare Drums, Cymbals, bugle, monotone instruments) will NOT be eligible.
• For Hindustani/Carnatic on wind instruments: Musical experience certificate from a recognized institute is required.
• For Western notation/Western music: Minimum initial grade certificate from Trinity College of Music, London, or Royal School of Music London, etc., is mandatory.
• For others: Certificates of participation/awards at various events must be submitted.

Application Fees

There is no direct application fee charged by the Indian Navy for online submission via the official website. However, if a candidate chooses to upload the application from Common Service Centres (CSC), a nominal fee of Rs 60 + GST will be applicable (this facility is entirely optional).

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Shortlisting of candidates will be based on marks obtained in the matriculation examination along with a valid music certificate. Shortlisted candidates will undergo the following stages:

1. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Qualifying in PFT is mandatory for selection.
2. Written Examination: Only candidates qualifying the PFT will undergo the written exam.
3. Music Ability Test (MAT): Candidates scoring 13 marks and above (>25%) in the written exam will be selected for MAT. The final merit list is based on performance in MAT.
4. Recruitment Medical Examination: Conducted for candidates qualifying the MAT and PFT.

Written Exam Pattern (10th Standard)

Note: The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English). Candidates are required to pass in both sections as well as in aggregate.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT) Standards

Minimum Height: 157 cms for both Male and Female candidates. Permanent body tattoos are strictly restricted to specific areas as per Navy rules.

Candidates must strictly apply through the official website. Applications via post will be rejected.

1. Visit the official Indian Navy portal: www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
2. Register your email ID (if not already registered) and click on “Apply Online”.
3. Fill in your correct personal details, educational marks (convert grades to marks as per board formula and upload the conversion formula).
4. Crucial Step: Upload a recent passport size colour photograph (taken not before Mar 2026, 10 KB to 50 KB). The photograph is to be taken with the candidate holding a black slate in front of his/her chest with his/her name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters.
5. Upload scanned copies of original matriculation mark sheet, Domicile certificate, and valid Musical Experience Certificates.
6. Submit the application before the deadline of 26th April 2026. Print the application for future reference.
