Salary Details

During the tenure, engaged Junior Technicians (Contract) will receive the following remuneration per month:

  • Basic Pay: Minimum Basic Pay of Rs. 21,000/-
  • Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA): As applicable
  • Special Allowance: @ 5% of Basic Pay
  • Annual Increment: 3% on basic pay, granted during the tenure only upon successful completion of the previous tenure.
  • Other Benefits: An additional Rs. 3000/- per month for medical and accident insurance, conveyance, telephone, etc. Provident Fund contributions will be as per EPF Rules.
  • Gratuity: Eligible for gratuity @ 15 days pay for each completed year of engagement after more than 1 year.
  • Ex-gratia payment: Rs. 10 lakhs in case of accidental death during employment on company premises.
  • Accommodation: May be provided subject to availability on payment of Licence fee, but HRA will not be provided.

Job Location

The primary job location will be Heavy Vehicles Factory, Avadi, Chennai-54. However, candidates may be transferred to any unit, project, establishment, office, or other location of AVNL across the country as per company requirements.

Selection Process

The selection process for Junior Technician (Contract) positions involves the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting Criteria:
    • Preference will be given to HVF Ex-Trade Apprentices, then OFB Ex-Trade Apprentices, and finally other NTC/NAC holders.
    • Shortlisting is based on marks obtained in the final examination of NAC/NTC. (Minimum 65% marks, relaxable by 5 marks for SC/ST/PwBD and 3 marks for OBC)
    • Candidates will be shortlisted to the extent of 3 times the number of vacancies for the Trade Test.
  2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification. Those who do not clear this stage will not be allowed to proceed further.
  3. Trade Test (Practical): This test is qualifying in nature (FIT/UNFIT) and carries no marks. Only candidates who qualify will be considered for engagement. The Trade Test will be conducted at Heavy Vehicles Factory, Avadi.
  4. Final Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared based on the criteria mentioned in the shortlisting section.
  5. Tie-Breaking Rules: In case of a tie in marks, the candidate from the senior batch will be preferred. If the batch is also the same, the older person by Date of Birth will get preference. If Date of Birth is also the same, alphabetical order of English name will be the criterion.

Candidates will be intimated about shortlisting and Trade Test dates via email and SMS. No physical hall tickets will be issued.
